DMCA and Notice-and-Notice
How to report copyright infringement on SLLE.
Version 1.0 · Effective September 20, 2026
SinewsLink Inc. ("SinewsLink", "we") operates the SinewsLink Local Economy ("SLLE") platform. We respect intellectual-property rights and respond to properly submitted copyright notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") and Canada's Notice-and-Notice regime (sections 41.25–41.27 of the Copyright Act).
1. Designated agent (DMCA)
Send DMCA notices to our designated agent, registered with the U.S. Copyright Office:
SinewsLink Inc. – DMCA Designated Agent
Attn: Legal / Copyright
#488 1122 3 St SE Ste 1906
Calgary, AB T2G 0E7, Canada
Email: legal@slle.ca (subject line: "DMCA Notice")
The U.S. Copyright Office public directory of designated agents is at dmca.copyright.gov.
2. What your DMCA notice must include
To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed (or a representative list if multiple works).
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to let us locate it (URL or in-app path).
- Your contact information: full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on the rights holder's behalf.
Notices missing any of these elements may be treated as invalid. Knowingly filing a materially false notice may subject you to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
3. Counter-notification
If your content was removed and you believe the removal was mistaken or misidentified, you may send a counter-notification to the same agent. It must include the elements listed in 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), including a statement under penalty of perjury and your consent to jurisdiction in the federal district for your address (or, if outside the U.S., any judicial district where SinewsLink Inc. may be found).
4. Canadian Notice-and-Notice
For infringement of a copyright protected in Canada, rights holders may send a compliant Notice under sections 41.25–41.27 of the Copyright Act to legal@slle.ca (subject line: "Canadian Notice"). On receipt of a valid Notice, we will forward it to the user associated with the identified content and retain records as required by law. Notice-and-Notice does not itself require us to remove content; a court order is needed for removal in Canada.
5. Repeat-infringer policy
We terminate the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers of copyright in appropriate circumstances, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(i).
